Planned for the spring

NBA and NHL playoff fantasy, one league.

Updated October 2026

An NBA and NHL playoff fantasy league puts teams from both postseasons into one draft and one standings table. Both playoffs run in the spring at the same time, so you follow the hardwood and the ice together, and you score when your teams win.

It isn’t open yet, and there is no open date.

What is an NBA and NHL playoff fantasy league?

It’s one fantasy league whose draft pool comes from two playoffs at once: the NBA and the NHL. You draft whole teams, not players. When your teams win, you score, and everyone’s total lands on the same standings table.

We call a league like this a combo league. See how combo leagues work.

How would an NBA and NHL playoff league work?

This is the plan for the spring, so details may change before it opens.

1

One draft across both playoffs

You draft from NBA and NHL playoff teams in a single draft. One draft sets your roster for both postseasons.

2

Wins are the scoring

You draft whole teams, not players. When your teams win, you score. No nightly lineups, waivers, or trades.

3

One standings table

Both playoffs settle on the same scoreboard. Scores and standings update on their own as games go final.

How does scoring work?

Wins are the scoring. Exact point values for the playoff league aren’t published yet. For a feel for how playoff wins count, here is how our season leagues score today.

  • NBA season leagues. A regular-season win is 1 point. Playoff wins rise from 2 to 5 points, plus a champion bonus.

  • NHL season leagues. Wins earn points. Playoff wins are worth more as the rounds advance.

Why one league for both playoffs?

Both playoffs run in the spring at the same time. One league lets your group follow basketball and hockey together on one table, instead of keeping score in two places.
